If you're a playwright from the Pacific Northwest looking for a place to write, or have a play being workshopped or premiered abroad, we may be able to assit.

Sponsored Writing Retreats

Beginning in 2017, Rain City Projects partnered with HBMG Foundation's National Winter Playwright's Retreat in Creede, Colorado and the National Playwright's Retreat in St. Joseph, Missouri. The retreats are a week long and provide everything a playwright needs to fuel writing a larger project. We offer free travel. They offer an isolated, tranquil location. Sweetness Grants

Rain City Projects offers travel grants for playwrights to attend rehearsals and premiere performances of their works. These grants are designed a) to encourage theatres to include playwrights in the rehearsal process and b) to encourage playwrights to use the rehearsal process for their writing; to write final drafts in the context of production.

Playwrights must have a connection with the Pacific Northwest (Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, British Columbia) to be considered for a Sweetness Grant.
