Power to the Playwright
Rain city Projects
How would you feel about having a
brand new, full-length play
by December 1?
You can do it! And Rain City Projects is here to help!
Take the Play-Vember Challenge!
They say great habits are formed by thirty days of repetition. And that applies to writing, too! What better time to form new writing habits than when the weather turns cozy and the Great Dark descends upon the PNW?
Join us for a 30-Day Challenge! Your job? To write three-pages a day no matter what. And by December 1, you’ll have a first draft of a new full-length play!
No strings! No catch! Just a chance to honor that part of you that has something to say.
We’ll be sending out weekly encouraging emails and hosting mini Writing (Re)Treats throughout November. And in the new year, we’ll have a chance for you to share a tantalizing taste of what you create.
FAQ
Do I have to write a NEW play?
We’re not the boss of you! Write whatever you like! But we suggest starting a new play for funsies.
Do I have to write three pages a day? Or can I binge-write fifty pages on the weekend?
Again, we’re not the boss of you, and everyone’s writing process is different. Some days are super busy and there just isn’t time. We get it. However, this challenge is about showing up for yourself and developing a daily writing habit, so we suggest writing three-pages (or more) per day. It is a small, doable number that adds up.
Are you grading my work?
No. These will be first draft plays. Allow yourself the freedom to explore! No one will see what you write unless you want to share it! But as the old saying goes, “You cannot edit a blank page.” One terrible page of words is better than no pages and no words.
Can I write more than 90 pages?
Absolutely! 90 pages is just where writing three pages a day for 30 days will land you. But you’re welcome to exceed that number, you superstar!
